Nora was born and raised in the Metro Detroit area. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor where she majored in History. Nora then attended Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She hopes to pursue a fellowship in preventive medicine and earn her MPH. Her professional interests within family medicine include preventive medicine, exploring population and social determinants of health, health policy, behavioral health, and women’s health. Nora enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, exploring different restaurants, music, concerts, and a good conversation.

Chad was born and raised in St. Clair, Michigan, and attended the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. He is interested in urgent care, sports medicine, and procedural medicine. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and dog. Some of his favorite hobbies are running, camping, snowmobiling, and biking. Upon graduating, he plans to remain in Michigan working in a mix of inpatient and outpatient medicine.

Arpon was born in Bangladesh and immigrated to Kingston, Ontario. He completed his undergraduate degree at Western University in London, Ontario and a Masters in Biomedical Technology at the University of Calgary, Alberta. He went on to earn his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Arpon is interested in global health, prevention, and community medicine. He is also interested in the arts, specifically dance and music. Arpon enjoys training and competing in dance competitions with his Detroit Dance Crew.

Amal was born in Detroit and raised in Southeast Michigan. She studied at the University of Michigan-Dearborn for her undergraduate education and attended Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Amal is of Palestinian and Polish heritage. Her interests include spending time with family and friends, music, food, arts and traveling. She hopes to become involved in international medicine in the future.

In her free time, she likes to spend time with friends and family, watch movies and tv shows, and explore Michigan’s great outdoors.

Donya was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and lived there for eight years before moving to San Jose, CA with her family. She attended UCLA, majoring in Neuroscience for her undergraduate degree. She continued at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. Donya loves learning and reading about cooking and baking techniques. Frequently she and her husband have baking competitions with each other! She also hopes to convince her family to move to the Midwest soon, where she hopes to practice after residency.

Marvin grew up in Farmington Hills, MI and graduated from Oakland University with his undergraduate degree. He continued his education at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Macomb Campus, earning his medical degree. Marvin is planning on pursuing a Sports Medicine Fellowship after residency. In his spare time, Marvin enjoys creative writing, playing sports (soccer and volleyball), and spending time with family and friends.

Anthony was born and raised in the Metro Detroit area (primarily Sterling Heights). He completed his undergraduate studies at Wayne State University. Anthony went on to earn his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. During that time, he completed a clinical rotation at Providence and Providence-Park. His interests in the medical field in an outpatient setting which led him to Family Medicine. Anthony enjoys anime, video games, running, traveling, and watching sports (Go Lions!)

Born and raised in Southeast Michigan, Stephens exudes a Pure Michigan persona – a goofy accent, a passion for Detroit Sports, and always refers to his left hand when he needs a map. Stephen’s a graduate of De LaSalle High School, University of Michigan and Michigan State College of Human Medicine. Although a little older than most residents due to his non-traditional path, Stephen feels he ages better than a fine Traverse City Cherry bounce – ready to bring a youthful enthusiasm to the Family Medicine Program here at Providence.

Sagana was born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. She completed her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. Shortly after, she earned her medical degree at Saba University School of Medicine. Her professional interests in medicine include women’s health and preventative medicine. Sagana loves to dance and is trained as an Indian classical dancer and dance teacher. In her spare time, she likes to work out, read, travel and spend time with family and friends.

Beshowy’s professional interests include women’s health, preventative medicine, procedural medicine, and improving the efficiency of patient-physician communication. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, cooking, and a good cup of coffee.

Majd was born in Damascus, Syria and Immigrated to Detroit at the age of 7. He completed a biology degree at Oakland University in Rochester Hills and went on to earn a degree in medicine at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Majd is an avid traveler that enjoys learning about different cultures and ways of life, which he hopes to incorporate into his practice as he further pursues his interests in global health, sports medicine, preventative medicine, and procedural medicine. In his free time, he enjoys training and exploring different types of martial arts. He is a big proponent of spirituality and seeks a fulfilled life as a well-rounded family physician with the goal of making a difference in under-served communities.

He then attained his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. His career goals are directed towards hospital and outpatient medicine, medical academics, and global medicine. Vaibhav is fond of traveling the world, exploring nature, spending quality time with friends and family, and keeping up with world events.

Diamond was born and raised in the Metro Detroit area. She graduated from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor with her undergraduate degree and obtained her medical doctorate from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She loves the church, music, and outdoor and physical activity. However, as of late her main interest has been spending time with her two Dons (husband D3 and baby D4) and watching her new little family blossom. She enjoys temporary travel but loves coming back home to Michigan. Although born and raised here, she is not tired of it yet and would like to stay to practice after finishing residency.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, and playing physically demanding sports such as golf and table tennis.

Gavin is from Berkeley, California. After earning a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UC Santa Cruz in 2010, he lived and worked on a 500-acre fruit and vegetable farm in California's Capay Valley. An attraction to science, passion for decreasing health disparities, and a life-changing venomous rattlesnake bite in 2012 pointed Gavin to the field of family medicine. He graduated from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He and his wife, 4 y.o son, and 1 y.o daughter live in Ferndale, where their yard is filled with heirloom tomatoes, kale, eggplants, squash, and lettuce. Gavin loves to camp in the mountains and the dunes, work on DIY home projects, and play soccer.

Natalie is happy to be back in her home state of Michigan and looks forward to practicing here after residency. Her interests in family medicine include procedural medicine and preventative medicine. In her free time, Natalie enjoys spending time in the UP riding her four-wheeler, running, and catching an episode of the Golden Girls.

She went on to attend the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school. Her interests within family medicine include preventative medicine, obstetrics, and women’s health. In her free time, Hailey enjoys traveling, playing tennis, doing yoga, and spending time with her dog Willow.

He enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing basketball, and traveling which allows him to learn about new cultures and foods. Abdul looks forward to learning from the diverse patient population in Metro-Detroit and doing his part to address healthcare disparities.

Her interests in Family Medicine include Behavioral Health, Women's Health, and Integrative Medicine. After graduating from residency, Ashley plans to remain in the Metropolitan Detroit Area to focus on the health and wellness of vulnerable populations. Outside of the hospital, Ashley is always prepared for a short getaway; she is a licensed travel agent. She also enjoys cooking, baking, sewing, and sketching.

Elton Li was initially born in Hangzhou China, but has spent his childhood in Los Angeles, Detroit, and Windsor. He has since settled in the Livonia/Northville area in Metro Detroit. He graduated from the University of Michigan and went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He has a passion for preventative medicine, integrating the psychosocial model, and medical education. Elton is a big music aficionado and loves spending time with his friends and family.

Janani was born and raised in the Metro-Detroit area. She graduated from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor with her undergraduate degree in Biomolecular Sciences and obtained her medical doctorate from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. She spends a lot of her free time traveling but always loves to come back home. She has been very involved with her Hindu youth group since college and loves to learn about different faiths and cultures. She likes to practice yoga and meditation and is trying her best to embrace running. She recently starting reading and writing more, including working on a short film, and her favorite author is Mitch Albom.

Anoop grew up in Canton, Michigan. He completed his bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology and master’s degree in the basic medical sciences at Wayne State University. While in school, he worked at Detroit’s Avalon bakery and became involved in community service, which inspired him to pursue family medicine. He graduated from medical school at the American University of the Caribbean on the island of Sint Maarten and completed a year of rotations in London, where he worked for the National Health Service. His professional interests include preventative, integrative and lifestyle medicine, nutrition, LGBTQ care, global health, mental health, and healthcare access. In his free time, he likes to read, cook, hike, and travel.
