Natalie Bacheldor, MD   Chief Resident 2022-2023

Natalie was born and raised in St. Clair, Michigan. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Oakland University and her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean. Natalie is happy to be back in her home state of Michigan and looks forward to practicing here after residency. Her interests in family medicine include procedural medicine and preventative medicine. In her free time, Natalie enjoys spending time in the UP riding her four-wheeler, running, and catching an episode of the Golden Girls.​

​Hailey Brownstein, DO  Chief Resident 2022-2023

Hailey was born and raised in the Metro Detroit area. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She went on to attend the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school. Her interests within family medicine include preventative medicine, obstetrics, and women’s health. In her free time, Hailey enjoys traveling, playing tennis, doing yoga, and spending time with her dog Willow.

Ava Peera, DO  Chief Resident 2022-2023

Ava grew up in Grand Blanc, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Human Biology. She continued on as a Spartan and received her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Ava’s interests in Family Medicine include women’s health and preventative medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys watching MSU sports, traveling up north with her family, boxing, and cycling.

Abdul Choudhury, MD

Abdul grew up in the metro-Detroit area. He graduated from Oakland University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and went on to Michigan State University for medical school. He is interested in outpatient and hospital medicine and hopes to be involved in medical education in the future. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing basketball, and traveling which allows him to learn about new cultures and foods. Abdul looks forward to learning from the diverse patient population in Metro-Detroit and doing his part to address healthcare disparities.

Ashley Erwin, MD

 

Ashley was born and raised in the Metropolitan Detroit Area. She received a B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and completed her medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine.  Her interests in Family Medicine include Behavioral Health, Women's Health, and Integrative Medicine.  After graduating from residency, Ashley plans to remain in the Metropolitan Detroit Area to focus on the health and wellness of vulnerable populations. Outside of the hospital, Ashley is always prepared for a short getaway; she is a licensed travel agent.  She also enjoys cooking, baking, sewing, and sketching.

Mirna Jadan, MD

Mirna is from metro Detroit. She completed undergraduate studies in Bioengineering at Oakland University. She continued there for medical school at Oakland University School of Medicine. She enjoys being outside, working out, and spending time with her husband. She has many interests within Medicine including women’s health, sports medicine, nutrition, and optimizing health. She intends to have her own practice one day in metro Detroit where she can focus on her passions.

Elton Li, MD

Elton Li was initially born in Hangzhou China, but has spent his childhood in Los Angeles, Detroit, and Windsor. He has since settled in the Livonia/Northville area in Metro Detroit. He graduated from the University of Michigan and went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He has a passion for preventative medicine, integrating the psychosocial model, and medical education. Elton is a big music aficionado and loves spending time with his friends and family.

Janani Naidu, DO

Janani was born and raised in the Metro-Detroit area. She graduated from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor with her undergraduate degree in Biomolecular Sciences and obtained her medical doctorate from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. She spends a lot of her free time traveling but always loves to come back home. She has been very involved with her Hindu youth group since college and loves to learn about different faiths and cultures. She likes to practice yoga and meditation and is trying her best to embrace running. She recently starting reading and writing more, including working on a short film, and her favorite author is Mitch Albom.

Anoop Sinha, MD

Anoop grew up in Canton, Michigan. He completed his bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology and master’s degree in the basic medical sciences at Wayne State University. While in school, he worked at Detroit’s Avalon bakery and became involved in community service, which inspired him to pursue family medicine. He graduated from medical school at the American University of the Caribbean on the island of Sint Maarten and completed a year of rotations in London, where he worked for the National Health Service. His professional interests include preventative, integrative and lifestyle medicine, nutrition, LGBTQ care, global health, mental health, and healthcare access. In his free time, he likes to read, cook, hike, and travel.

Eleisha was born in Detroit and raised in Southfield, Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, and later obtained her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her current interests within Family Medicine are quite varied and include behavioral health, lifestyle medicine, and urgent care medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, watching Law & Order SVU, riding her Peloton and discovering new restaurants and coffee shops across Metro-Detroit. Upon finishing residency, Eleisha plans to work in both an outpatient and urgent care setting.

Abdal-Rahman "Aboudy" El-Mallah, MD

Abdal-Rahman was born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan to first generation Lebanese American parents. He earned a Bachelor in Biological Sciences at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Abdal-Rahman completed his clinical rotation training with Ascension Providence while attending the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine for his Doctor of Medicine degree. Upon residency completion, he plans to remain in Southeast Michigan working in outpatient medicine. Professional interests include behavioral health, community medicine, preventive medicine, and tending to healthcare disparities. Abdal-Rahman enjoys spending free time with his wife and family. He loves learning about human history and geography. Some of his favorite hobbies are boxing, swimming, horseback riding, and playing monopoly.

Dominique was born and raised in Kalamazoo, MI (West Michigan). Her interests within family medicine include behavioral health, preventative medicine, OMT, health disparities, and teaching. During her free time she currently enjoys playing video games, Asian dramas, scary movies, tennis, playing with her cat, and hanging out with friends and family. After finishing residency, Dominique hopes to work with underserved populations whether it be on faculty, inpatient, outpatient, or urgent care.

Aashika was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from St. Bonaventure University and went on to earn her medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in PA. She met her husband, a Michigan native, in medical school and they decided to make Michigan their home. Her interests within family medicine include procedural medicine, preventative medicine and population health. In her free time, Aashika enjoys being outdoors, traveling, reading, painting and spending time with family, friends and her dog.

He then went on to receive a Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology from the University of Toledo. He earned his Medical degree from Michigan State University-College of Human Medicine. His interests in family medicine include population health, mental health, and preventive medicine. In his free time, Quentin enjoys spending time with family, watching sports, working out, trying new foods, and keeping up with politics and current events. After residency, he plans to remain in Southeastern Michigan.

His interests within Family Medicine include outpatient care, sports medicine, and urgent care medicine. When he’s not at the hospital or clinic Justin loves coaching crossfit, hanging out with his wife and cats, traveling, playing computer games, and being disappointed by the Detroit Lions. After residency he hopes to remain in the Brighton area practicing outpatient medicine

Dorothy grew up in Canton, Michigan. Her interests within family medicine include preventative medicine, complementary and alternative medicine, and sports medicine. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and exploring new places, going on beautiful hikes, teaching piano, spending time with family and friends, and checking out new restaurants! Upon finishing residency, Dorothy plans to have her own practice where she will combine eastern and western approaches to medicine to better serve her patients.

Malik Abdolkarim, DO

Malik was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biomedical Physics. He attended West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine to earn his medical degree. His current interests within Family Medicine include sports medicine, procedural medicine, and lifestyle medicine. He enjoys hiking, kayaking, archery, board games, and is a Detroit sports fan. Upon completion of residency Malik hopes to stay in Michigan and work in outpatient medicine.

Hamzah was born in Royal Oak, MI and grew up in Lebanon. He moved back to Michigan in 2011. He received his Bachelor of Science in honors biological sciences at Wayne State University. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University. While he hopes to practice full-scope family medicine, he is interested in preventative medicine, procedural medicine, sleep medicine and behavioral health. In his free time, Hamzah enjoys high intensity interval training, playing soccer, baking and spending time with family and friends

Martial Fotso, MD, MHA

Martial (pronounced Marcial) was born and raised in Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon. Cameroon is a small country of about 28 million inhabitants located in West Central Africa. Martial moved to the United States to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia where he graduated with Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He then stayed on to complete a Master of Health Administration with a graduate certificate in Healthcare Informatics and Healthcare Ethics. He received his medical degree from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. His interest in Family Medicine includes rural medicine, Women’s health, global health, procedural medicine, and community health. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, working out, watching sports and he enjoys running and he is currently training for a half marathon later on this year.

Heraa Hasnat, MD

Heraa was born in Pakistan before she immigrated at the age of 6 with her family to San Francisco, California. She received her Bachelors of Science in Neuroscience as well as a minor in English Literature from Mills College in Oakland, California. She then decided that the island life sounded like a good time and went on to receive her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine on the island of Sint Maarten. Her current interests in Family Medicine include Women's Health, Healthcare disparities, Behavioral medicine, OMT, and Preventative Medicine. Outside of medicine Heraa enjoys reading, spending time with her husband, parents, and friends, spending time outdoors, watching Disney movies and/or going to Disney, baking, traveling, and drinking excessive amounts of caffeine

Ioana grew up in London, Ontario where she attended Western University. She earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. To name a few, her interests in family medicine include promotion of health maintenance and disease prevention, procedural medicine, and urgent care medicine, but she hopes to practice full-scope family medicine. Ioana spends her free time socializing with friends and family, hiking, biking, and participating in any outdoor activities. She also enjoys playing all sports, video games, board games, and card games.
